AUSTRALIAN BUFFALO HUNTERS (the original):  We Specialise in quality Water Buffalo and big game rifle and bow hunting safaris conducted in central Arnhemland in the tropical Northern Territory (NT) of Australia.  With over 12 years Safari experience in Arnhemland, we have productive concessions, for outstanding Buffalo trophies.  Species include Asiatic Water Buffalo, Wild Ox (Scrub Bull), Banteng and Wild Boar.  Step back in time, exploring and hunting on foot with your classic Double rifle or Express bolt rifle.  Buffalo hunts for 5- 7- 10-days to suit all hunters requirements.  Many other hunts available.

DANGEROUS GAME:   We have been charged quite a few times by Buffalo, Scrub Bull, Banteng and even Wild Boar.  The massive Water Buffalo bulls weigh upto 1000kg (2200lb) and are just as tough as African Cape Buffalo and can get just as nasty.  The first hunt of last season saw a wounded Bull charge out of the river, a brain shot with a 416 Rigby FMJ stopped him reaching us.  Trophy sizes ranges from 95-110SCI with many 110-130cm (45-50") wide heavy horns taken in our concessions.  Please note these wilderness hunts can be physically demanding, so a good level of fitness is required.  Bow-hunters will appreciate our experience and the varying terrain.  Medium to light colour camo and leafy suits work well in the Australian Bush.  We recommend our Arnhemland Buffalo safaris and expeditions as the best big game hunting that Australia has to offer.

OUTSTANDING BUFFALO TROPHIES:  After 12 years operating in Arnhemland, we have become one of the biggest Buffalo safari operators.  Yet we can still deliver outstanding trophies of 95-110SCI because we only take 6-10 Bulls per season from each area of Mt Catt, Bonanza, Nugabu and Mapurru (Buckingham Bay).  Due to our long term commitment, the best way to consistently produce trophy Bulls is to not over hunt our areas.  Arnhemland has limited certain productive areas with good soils, grasslands and water, the best concessions were obviously secured 10 or 20 years ago, with us you will not waste your time and efforts, you will always be amongst Australia's best Buffalo hunting and biggest Bulls.

BANTENG:  Free range Banteng hunts are available in the wilderness of NW Arnhemland and Coburg Peninsular National Park.  You have a few options, please ask.  The top of Australia is the only place in the world to hunt wild Banteng which are much smaller than Buffalo and a nice big game trophy.

QUALITY RIFLES:  You can bring your own rifle or use one of our express rifles.  We have a good selection of 375H&H and bigger bolt rifles, and double rifles available.  To hunt we need you to complete your firearm license application as soon as possible.  Ammunition is generally loaded with Woodleigh premium big game bullets.

ARNHEMLAND WILDERNESS:  Buffalo hunting in the real Wilderness of Aboriginal owned Arnhemland is a privilege few hunters will ever experience.  Arnhemland is like another country of almost 100,000 square kilometers (or 600,000 square miles), thats approx 500 x 200 kilometers (or 300 x 200 miles), the size of Denmark.  Only a few professional safari companies have the correct licenced agreements to conduct safaris on Aboriginal tribal land.  Arnhemland is one of the worlds last wild frontiers, where local Aborigine people live off the land in small communities, hunting, fishing and following traditional values.  It is a place where time stands still, with no farms, no fences or sealed roads.  Trek along century old Buffalo trails in scenic valleys bordered by rock escarpments leading to streams, rivers and billabongs edged with tropical pandanus.  Hunt this heavy cover or trek the open plains and rugged hills to glass herds of roaming Buffalo.  This is Australia's Best hunting.

HUNT SEASON & HUNT FLIGHTS:  The best months for Buffalo hunting are June, July, August, September with temperatures averageing 20-23'C min to 31-33'C max (perfection).  This is the DRY Season when hunting is at its best and 4wd access is possible in the concessions.  By the end of October and start of November temps are upto 35-40'C max (midday), and the tropical WET Season rains start from November through to April.  The Arnhemland hunts require approx 1 1/2hr charter flights between Darwin and the Hunt Areas.

BARRAMUNDI FISHING:  After your NT hunting you can fish the rivers and billabongs for Barramundi and Saratoga, which are 2 of our renowned fighting fish.  Keen fishermen travel from all over the world to experience Barra fishing in the Top End, and 1,2,3 day quality fishing charter operators are available from Darwin.

CLASSIC TENTED SAFARI CAMPS:  Arnhemlands Best Tented Camps & Hunting !!  In remote Arnhemland we use traditional African style expedition tented safari camps that are occassionally moved during the season, so you are always amonst large numbers of Buffalo.  The two main camps have big tents and are very comfortable.  Remote camps are used further afield.  We do not want a lodge or permanent camp, as you are in the wild.  All camps have a lovely location, such as a picturesque river or stream, with Buffalo often roaming past!!  Many species of Australia birdlife come in for water near camp, kookaburras, kingfishers and hawks are also regular visitors cruising along the river.  The perfect place to relax, and in the evenings hunters can talk of big rifles, heavy bows and big game hunting, while around the Aussie campfire and under the stars.

MAJOR AIRPORT - DARWIN, NORTHERN TERRITORY:  You will need to fly to the city of Darwin which is a great tourist area, with quality shops, beaches and the famous Mindle Beach markets.  Bring the family and make extra time to visit Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks, view stunning gorges, billabongs, waterfalls, and see native wildlife such as Kangaroos, Wallaby, Dingo, Goanas, Frilled necked lizards, Crocodiles, and birdlife such as Hawks, Kites, Brolga and Jabiru. 

DEER HUNTS:  International hunters doing Buffalo with us can upgrade their itinerary to include Deer hunting.  We have excellent Free Range hunts for Wild Chital (Axis), Red Deer, Javan Rusa Deer in Queensland and the elusive Sambar Deer in Victoria where a high level of fitness and effort is required.   Note: These remote and wild hunts require travel to one or two other Australian states and 3- 4- 6-days per species, with hunts priced from $3750.  Game ranch deer hunts are also available upon request.
