Horse Blood ResultsSubmission FormA few hints for clients wishing to submit blood results for analysis/interpretation: 1) Take the blood early in the morning prior to exercise or feeding. The quieter and less upset the horse is, the more accurate the reading. 2) If drawing the blood yourself, allow it to run into the tube from needles rather than drawing the blood out under pressure and then squirting it into the tube as this damages the blood cells, altering the reading. 3) Keep the blood in a cool, dark place until it is delivered to the lab for processing . 4) Try to get the blood to the lab as soon as possible - within four hours. For tests in Western Australia, if using Western Diagnostic Pathology, specimen MUST be in a yellow envelope or bag and marked "VETPATH" - and ask for a "McGregor blood" and request results be faxed to us. Throughout Australia, check with your local clinic as we require the laboratory's 'normal' values and these may vary from lab to lab. For tests in Singapore or Hong Kong, use The Singapore Racing Lab. NOTE : Mailto forms such as these are no longer supported by some modern web browsers. If your email program brings up a blank email window, this may well be the case. Please just send us an email with as much of the following info as you have available. The address to send to is mcvc2@gateway.net.au. Additionally, if you do not receive a reply within 1-2 days, it is highly likely that your form submission was unsuccessful, so please contact us directly by e-mail. Thank you. |
