Ron - Clinic Cat Early in March 1998, we were presented with a car accident victim. The 6 month old tabby cat had suffered a broken pelvis. He was given first aid and we waited for an owner to call. He was wearing a collar and bell but no identification.
We tossed up a few names. One was "Elvis the Pelvis", but we decided to name him Ron after one of our clients who often brings us pasties for lunch. We even considered calling him "pastie"... Ron matured into a BIG cat! His favourite passtime was eating, closely followed by wandering the neighbourhood looking for new friends (ie. anyone who will feed him!) Over time, he devised a way of combining both passtimes to give ultimate happiness. Ron's best friends and second home (maybe his real "home"?) was two doors away at the Picture Framers'. His "other" family spoiled him with a number of chairs of his own, complete with his own sheepskin ;-) This picture was taken at the Picture shop... As time progressed, Ron's jaunts took him on further adventures, including hitchhiking out of town in someone's car, and visiting more and more businesses in our surrounding area. These included the car rental people, the lawyers, the pathology lab, the real estate agents, and the auto mechanics - all of whom fed him and some even bought him lunch on their daily lunch run! After he hit 8kg, we felt it necessary to do a mail box drop to stop everyone feeding him!!! Ultimately, this wander lust was his downfall as he was sadly killed outright by a car.
