Ambrose

(November 1990 - 5 February, 1998)

Ambrose was bought from a pet shop in early 1991 as a replacement for Cuddles who died the previous December. He was quite a big kitten and we thought that he was probably born around November 1990.

He was the only rabbit in the shop who came up to us every time we visited the shop, so after about the third visit, he came home with us. He was giving rabbitty kisses the very next day, and is one of the most placid, affectionate rabbits we have owned.

At 7 years old he suffered a recurrent spinal arthritis and slipped discs which he received both conventional and chiropractic treatment for. He was also attacked by a large Staffy/Bully type dog (which jumped our fence) in January 1997 and suffered nerve damage to one front leg from which he fully recovered. If it hadn't been for his placid nature, he would probably have panicked himself to death. He took everything in his stride and was always happy to see his family.

He attended a couple of rabbit shows in the pet section and did very well. But, most of all, he just loved being there meeting all the different people!

We had to make the difficult decision to put our precious Amby to sleep following a stroke on the morning of 5 February 1998 :-(
