Cuddles

(August 1986 - 30 December 1990)

Cuddles as a fluffy kittenCuddles was the most placid rabbit we have owned. We bought her from the pet shop at 5 weeks of age and she was just a little ball of fluff. She was to be a companion for Bugsy, who decided that she couldn't stand her. They soon sorted out their differences though, and became best of friends until Bugsy died in 1988.

After going through a stand-offish stage at puberty, Cuddles showed us just how affectionate rabbits can be as pets. She just loved to be with us all the time and always had a kiss to share with her human family. She had free run of the yard and didn't mind who came along to give her a cuddle - even if she didn't know them. Nothing phased her!

She also had an addiction to chocolate (we know better now!) and, as a result, loved Easter time when she would visit my Grandparents' place and sit on the back patio hopping from person to person for a taste of chocolate.

Cuddles was diagnosed with cystic kidney cancers when she was 2 years old necessitating chemotherapy tablets on and off. The cancers shrunk but were always with her but you wouldn't have known! She was not affected in the least.

We were devastated when she died suddenly in the early morning of 30 December 1990.
