Needle-Felted Shih Tzu

These are not real dogs!

Needle felting (or dry felting) is an ancient art. A specially manufactured, very sharp, barbed felting needle is used by hand to repeatedly push fibres (usually wool) together, entangling them to form either flat or three-dimensional shaped forms.

Needle-Felted Shih Tzu - Frodo

Frodo is my sixth needle-felted shih tzu, a lovely pale gold & white boy.

He has a wire armature making him poseable, and a coat of pure Merino wool. He has a sculpted poly-clay nose and glass eyes.

Frodo was made for Michele Thomas (of Meinlieb Shih Tzu in NSW, Australia - breeder of my Harvey), and loosely based on her NZ Ch./Australian Ch. Kino the Ringmaster (Jamie).
