Needle-Felted Shih Tzu

These are not real dogs!

Needle felting (or dry felting) is an ancient art. A specially manufactured, very sharp, barbed felting needle is used by hand to repeatedly push fibres (usually wool) together, entangling them to form either flat or three-dimensional shaped forms.

Needle-Felted Shih Tzu - Holli

Holli was my fourth creation but fully finished before Iris and Jerry whilst I awaited black eyes and additional wool from the USA.

Holli has a wire armature so she is fully poseable. She is a liver & white Shih Tzu with polyclay sculpted light brown nose and eyes. Her hair is a mixture of Merino and Alpaca fibre with a touch of silk for extra glisten.

Holli has moved to IL, USA to live with Maryann.
