Needle felting (or dry felting) is an ancient art. A specially manufactured, very sharp, barbed felting needle is used by hand to repeatedly push fibres (usually wool) together, entangling them to form either flat or three-dimensional shaped forms.

The whole process condensed - from start to nearly-finished
This is "Lochie"
I am new to this art form and have been wanting to learn to do something like this for approximately 15 years since I saw a story in an English dog magazine about a lady who created miniature dogs from dog-grooming hair clippings. I think I am going to really enjoy creating beautiful Shih Tzu dogs!
The dogs created are NOT toys but collectible art pieces. Each is one of a kind and unique in its own special way. They cannot be groomed without loosening fibres so great care must be taken to keep them protected and clean.
Welcome to "ARTFELT" - my needle-felted Shih Tzu kennel...
