Needle felting (or dry felting) is an ancient art. A specially manufactured, very sharp, barbed felting needle is used by hand to repeatedly push fibres (usually wool) together, entangling them to form either flat or three-dimensional shaped forms.

Artfelt Lochie Mess-Monster "Lochie" Height at withers : 5cm Born : 17 April, 2007 |
|
Lochie was my first attempt at needle-felting. He was named after the famous Loch Ness Monster due to the fact that his hairless form had a long, skinny neck with a blob of a head on top, reminding me of "Nessie". Lochie has a wire armature so he is fully poseable. He is felted from pure Merino wool and has a sculpted poly-clay nose.
Lochie is NOT FOR SALE. |
