Catching Up
It's been a little while since we chatted so I thought I should do a catch-up blog. I am thrilled that I am a featured dog on Dogspace - I am also on the Beneful.com.au homepage you know? Mum is very proud.
Mum and I both have a weekend off from work (for her) and showing (for both of us) so it is a lazy weekend at home for us. Mum has been making dog bows (she sells them) all weekend. When she wasn't doing that, we went to school this morning where I demonstrated my "cling-on" impersonation - that is where I hang onto mum's leg while she tries to walk! Mum says it's rude - I say it's fun ;-) When we got home, I had to have a bath - yuk!
Next weekend, we have two dog shows but they are both in our home town so I don't have to go to Perth. The Friday night after that, we ARE going to Perth so that I can have a go at getting the second leg of my CCD obedience title. Paws crossed for me! Chat soon - HARVEY
Winning Ways
Hi everyone! Just dropping in to let you all know what I have been up to this month... On September 8, we went to Perth for another dog show. My friends Ming and Marty were there with their mums Jan and Lesley. We got all dressed up and did our showing thing. Mum was really pleased because the judge picked me for Best of Breed and I got the last points I needed to become an AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION. I have a fancy certificate and everything!
Just this last weekend, we went to where I go to school (mum calls it 'obedience' - I don't know what that word means) and did a big test. Just before my test, I got stung on the foot by an ant and it really hurt, much worse than all the bee stings I've had. Anyway, mum put vinegar on it and it made me stink (and it made my friend 'Jedda' sneeze)! I did my test and I got third place and a score of 88/100. Mum was really proud of me and said I was on the way to getting my CCD title. I had another test in the afternoon but I didn't wait until mum called me on the recall and so I failed that one. I tried really hard though. During my stays, a couple of my friends started to play and nearly bounced on top of me. I just kept looking at mum and didn't move! I could see how happy mum was and we were both happy at the end even though I didn't pass. We had a great day and I got to eat a whole sausage. I love my mum :-) TTYS - Harvey :-p
Facing Your Fearz
Hi gang! I am feeling especially good today because yesterday, mum took me to the local agricultural show. Now, you will see from my DogSpace (link below) profile, that I hate them! She knows that... Anyway, after a pep talk, we went in and I was not a happy camper. Then I saw my friend Auntie Doreen and I saw some doggy friends and I was HAPPY!! It was hot though so mum had to buy a bottle of spring water that didn't even have a spring in it, and she made me drink from the bottle after she had already drunk from it (things we dogs have to put up with). We watched the other dogs do their obedience demo and then some more friends Auntie Vicky and Uncle Mark came along with their baby Max and I got to see them and have a catch up. I haven't seen them since I was a puppy :-) Also, lots of other people told me I was gorgeous and I got to sit with a nice scottish lady on the lawn. I think she liked it when I put my wet face on her arm. I also found out that I quite like Scottish pipe bands! To top things off, Mum won a raffle for the Save the Orangutang Society which was great but she won't share the chocolates with me :-(
Invisi-Poop!
Grandma babysits me while mum works and, the other day, I overheard my grandma talking to my mum and I thought I would tell you all about it .... Grandma told mum that when I go potty, I turn around and she can't find it! She swears blind that I do invisible poops! Maybe I deserve a part in that new show on TV called HEROES about the people with the superpowers - I can just see it now - "Harvey, the Invisi-pooper!" But seriously, I just think Grandma needs new glasses... she's old you know (over 430 in dog years, would you believe!) Mum seems to always be able to find it and she says "Good boy, Harvey" with a big smile on her face. I told you I had to humour her.... The things we dogs have to put up with. If you have a strange mum (or grandma) who is obsessed with poop, please show your support by joining me on DogSpace (link below) and sharing your bones with me :-p
Doggy School
Hi gang! Thought I'd tell you what's been happening in my life lately. Mum has been taking me to doggy school the last few weeks. We tried it when I was a baby but mum gave up - she said I had ADHD!! Well, I am a big boy now and I CAN be good...if I have to be ;-) Mum gives me lots of treats when we go to school. Small things like me looking at her and coming when I'm called, make her really really excited. I have to humour her - she has so little in her life LOL Shhh! Don't tell her that I am blogging about her - she will want to read it and it's private - just U and me, right? Mum says if we work really hard, I can go in an obedience trial really soon. She wants me to get a CCD title - sounds tricky but I'm up for the challenge.
Dog Shows
Hi gang - this is my first dog blog! Hey, I like the sounds of that - WOOF! My mum & I have had a really busy weekend so it was great to just spend the public holiday today chilling out - trouble is that it wasn't exactly chilly - in fact it was hot even with the air conditioning on! We got in at 2am this morning AND 2am the previous morning after travelling 2 hours to Perth (& back! TWICE! That's 8 hours in the car - BORING...) for the Western Classic dog show. That's a big important show for show doggies like me. We didn't get any show points this weekend but I had fun and met some new friends. Talk to you all soon.... HARVEY :-p
